چکیده

O w large body of evidence supports the fact that ubluxation and dislocation of the long head of the iceps tendon are relatively common findings associted with rotator cuff pathology. Dislocation of the ong head of the biceps is often linked to chronic egenerative changes seen with impingement synrome and tears in the rotator cuff, especially the ubscapularis tendon. One report states that medial isplacement of the long head of the biceps tendon an occur in up to 16% of rotator cuff tears. Other uthors have reported isolated dislocations of the iceps tendon without the presence of rotator cuff ears. However, to our knowledge, there have een no reports of a medially dislocated long head of he biceps tendon with intact subscapularis, supraspiatus, and infraspinatus tendons. We report on a atient with posttraumatic posterior shoulder instabilty with a medial dislocation of the long head of the iceps tendon over an intact subscapularis tendon ithout evidence of a torn rotator cuff. This injury is nique in that the subscapularis tendon is not torn, mplying an injury to the tissues of the rotator interval, ikely the coracohumeral and superior glenohumeral igaments.

Supraspinatus and Infraspinatus Rotator Cuff Repair Prevents Mechanical Damage to the Intact Subscapularis Tendon in a Rat Model

Introduction Rotator cuff tendon tears are a common cause of pain and disability. An intact rotator cuff stabilizes the glenohumeral joint, allowing for concentric rotation of the humeral head on the glenoid. However, large tears involving the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons may disrupt the normal balance of forces, resulting in abnormal joint loading which can cause secondary damage to...

Biceps detachment decreases joint damage in a rotator cuff tear rat model.

BACKGROUND Pathology in the long head of the biceps tendon often occurs in patients with rotator cuff tears. Arthroscopic tenotomy is the most common treatment. However, the role of the long head of the biceps at the shoulder and the consequences of surgical detachment on the remaining shoulder structures remain unknown. QUESTIONS/PURPOSES We hypothesized that detachment of the long head of t...

Ultrasound evaluation of the distal migration of the long head of biceps tendon following tenotomy in patients undergoing arthroscopic repair of tears of the rotator cuff.

This study evaluates the position of the long head of biceps tendon using ultrasound following simple tenotomy, in patients with arthroscopically repaired rotator cuff tears. In total, 52 patients with a mean age of 60.7 years (45 to 75) underwent arthroscopic repair of the rotator cuff and simple tenotomy of the long head of biceps tendon. At two years post-operatively, ultrasound re...

MRI of the rotator interval of the shoulder.

The rotator interval of the shoulder joint is located between the distal edges of the supraspinatus and subscapularis tendons and contains the insertions of the coracohumeral and superior glenohumeral ligaments. These structures form a complex pulley system that stabilizes the long head of the biceps tendon as it enters the bicipital groove of the humeral head. The rotator interval is the site ...

Ultrasonic examination of biceps and supraspinatus tendons in patients with chronic hemodialysis, referring to Rasoul Akram Hospital in Tehran at 2019-2020

Introduction: Tendiopathy is defined as an overuse injury that is histologically associated with tenocyte proliferation, collagen fiber degradation, increased non-collagen matrix, fluid accumulation between fibers, capillary proliferation, and calcification. Early diagnosis of tendonopathies Conservative treatments are necessary to prevent severe tendon damage or even rupture. Ultrasound is a n...
